Having worked in high end restaurants and catering throughout Melbourne and Canada for the past fifteen years Josh brings a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm and skill to every job. As the owner of this small business, Josh enjoys being the face you see from initial meeting through to the conclusion of your event. Josh Nicholson Catering is made up of a handpicked team of likeminded hospitality individuals. We enjoy working closely with local suppliers to design seasonal menus that highlight the outstanding produce on our doorstep here in Victoria.

A passion for both sustainable living and cooking inspired Josh to start the company that both his team and he can be proud to be a part of. Josh Nicholson Catering focuses on nose to tail meat use and works closely with ethical farmers we’ve known professionally for over 10 years. It’s our aim to run as close to zero waste as possible.

Quality local produce, treated with respect and cooked using simple but effective cooking techniques are at the heart of the service we provide.

Josh’s passion for locally sourced, sustainable produce comes from growing up in the country. After completing his chef’s apprenticeship in Warrnambool he moved to Melbourne to help open Albert Street Food & Wine. Working under Philipa Sibley instilled some ethics that stick with him to this day, use great produce, always.

After cutting his teeth in a hatted restaurant, Josh moved onto Rockpool Bar & Grill Melbourne under his brother Zac Nicholson. Over three and a half years here he polished his skills and became the chef he is today. Paired with years of on and off catering experience at The Big Group, he’s well versed in making good events outstanding.

After a couple of years away from Melbourne, he decided to launch a truly boutique catering company. Fully bespoke menus, executed by Josh and Tom, Everything made fresh and in house, locally sourced sustainable produce.
